I used to sit in circles of creative women and it would drive me nuts when they talked about how their muse had left or that they had to have inspiration to make work. There is a divide between those artists who understand that it is the work itself which excites, it is the process, while in it, that generates “the mood” and those artists that haven’t made that evolution yet.
Maureen, your words could not be more true! When I am down or annoyed or happy, the best medicine is to paint. It is always the muse and always elevates my spirit!
