Aimee: My Teachers
this is what our little one said this morning when i tried to help her with something. she is our leader, the strategist, the tester, the fearless pistol.
this is how our older one spends her days, our dreamer, the experimenter, the one who consistently eats her ice cream cones from the bottom up while she gazes at the sky.
i’m not sure where i would be without either of them. they are my teachers.
some food for thought from my favorite ranter on how to play nicely in art and life.
Crossposted from Artsyville.
gazing at the sky is always good. even better from the bottom of the cone. 🙂
any seat that fits works for me.
sometimes a new perspective is all that’s needed. and being a wolf at heart – strong, independent.
i have to look at that post every now and then to remind me that it’s a GOOD thing that she is strong and wants to do it herself – it’s not always easy in the actual moment (for the parent, that is 😉 ! thanks for crossposting/reposting this, miranda!
When I was in elementary school, my mom got me a big white iron bathtub with gold claw feet and filled it with pillows for me to read in. It sat smack in the middle of our living room. I loved my “reading tub” and love the image of your daughter in the bathroom sink. It brings back so many happy memories. 🙂
i love the little captured sayings. while my girls were playing with their barbies, this weekend, i heard sarah ask olivia “Are you famous or do you have a job?” best one i’ve heard in a while! shows you what they pick up, doesn’t it? 🙂
I love Aimee and how she so creatively captures little moments of every day and messages from our kids that so many of us take for granted! She’s giving one of her pieces away on my blog this week – come on over!
