Christa: Because I am a masochist

Thanks to flu, I’m not doing much writing this week. Working, because I still have deadlines but even more limited time because I am in bed by 8pm most nights, but not on fiction. So what did I do the other day? Of course – I sent out queries for my novel. Who wouldn’t, when snow and sickness and low energy has them so demoralized that they can’t possibly care about another round of rejections? Really, it’s the perfect time to query, don’t you think?

This explains your talent for the horror genre, Christa!

Seriously–it’s great to get your stuff out there. You have a new glimmer of hope to keep you going. But I don’t know how you are working with the flu. I hope you are managing to take care of yourself.

I really thought about laying on the couch today and leaving the computer off. Then I realized if I did that, I’d never want to get up again! I am working to stay functional. I can’t take DayQuil or anything with a decongestant (nursing), so it’s hot drinks, Vitamin C and probiotics, and work for me!

Sounds like a good way to get some use from your sickness. Plus when you get responses you’ll feel better when the time comes to celebrate!

I’m really not laughing at you… it is with you. When I am sickly I feel the same way. I just jump into the fray and start querying away. Why not? You already feel like crap.

And sure, if you get a request for more material, it JUST might make you feel a tiny bit better. 😉

Well, I feel better, but not because my queries are yielding anything. I’ve managed to rack up about 8 rejections instead. Yay me. 😛
