June is going to be a busy month for our family. I’m traveling for work and the kids are going to visit my parents for a couple of weeks. I’ve been trying to take 10 or 15 minutes each week to declutter and pull things out to donate. I’d like to do it everyday but I won’t be too hard on myself. With summer coming, I have to figure out how to juggle working from home (late at night) and making sure I’m present for my kids. I’d love to take the course!

I would love to take this course. When my children were younger, I think I wasn’t bad at keeping things simple, peaceful and routine (not perfect but not bad). I am not successful at it now that my boys are 12 and 14. And its something I struggle with every day as we navigate massive amounts of homework, strong need for downtime (mine and theirs) and sports/band activities. I’ve never heard of this book. Thanks for sharing – I’m heading to the bookstore for it today.

I have a deep belief that motherhood is the meltingpot for real political and creative innovation, I enact this within my family by growing a food garden, using waste to making beautiful art with my children & reigniting ritual which gives real meaning to the lives of women (i have 3 daughters). I curate exhibitions on birth & motherhood, & I am a graduate midwife who works in the community within a empowering public health context. Despite my best intentions I get overwhelmed by my anger at a patriarchal consumer capitalist society & I try to do too much to define myself & family outside of these overriding themes. This leads to me yelling at my kids! Yes I blame capitalism! I will create much beauty with the tools I learn in this course, should I be successful!

This is a great offer and a wonderful resource. Our Waldorf school has hosted Kim a few times and his work and writing are hugely informative and positive. I highly recommend this offer. I will pass on the contest, as my kids are teens now. I do believe in slow time and in kids living a gadget-free life for as long as they can. Do they really need a phone in elementary school? I saw a kid texting the other day, eating ice cream, sitting on the ground facing sunset and missing it totally….I know it is inevitable, but while you can have an impact on your young children, I say do. Thanks Miranda and Kathy for this great offer. I will share it. xo S

I am looking forward to having some days with nothing on the schedule this summer, so Olivia and I can enjoy some carefree time to just “be,” play, explore, create, and garden. We are cancelling our Dish Network, and are going to spend as much time outside as possible. It will be a gift to feel a day go by slowly, as we take our own sweet time, barefoot in the yard.

I’d love to win this. I have two boys ages 7 & 10, and an infant daughter. I recently began homeschooling with them. We have a move planned for Oahu, where I hope to get some chickens, garden, and continue homeschooling. I’ve recently changed some of my parenting approaches & am seeking tools to simplify our life. Connection trumps everything is my mantra I am trying to live up to. Thanks for offerring this!

I’m looking forward to the summer with my kids, and am hoping to strike a balance between the active-go-go of summer fun and peaceful, rhythmic mornings focused on time at home. I’d love to discover how to nurture my two kids’ interests simultaneously and harmoniously, because that seems to escape us at times. And I’d love to be able to deal with potential meltdowns (theirs and mine) with more grace. Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!
